My bestselling hand-bag-sized patterned notebook is a stylish statement piece of stationery that is great for notetaking, doodling or for journaling.  And with the addition of two double-sided bookmarks becomes a great gift set for anyone wanting to start, or continue, a journalling practice.

Although it might not be able to transport you to the rainforest, the Paradise pattern does at least add some colour and energy to your notes with the hand-drawn bird motifs, the colour block design and the movement from the small leaves around them.  

The Notebook has a sturdy but not heavy 2500gsm textured card cover, with a lilac on the inside., and its 208 internal pages are 100gsm off-white FSC approved paper - so will hold up against really inky pens including highlighters and fountain pens. Printed here in the UK by an independent family business specialising in notebook and music printing, its binding lets you open the notebook fully flat and with thread sewn pages keeping them neat and tight together.  

The Bookmarks are printed on 350gsm recycled card, so are thick enough to be used and moved around daily, but not so unwieldy that they might damage a book spine due to their size. And they’re also uncoated so if you do write on them, or colour them in, you can use some of your inkier pens (Just make sure they’re fully dry before putting them in your book). One side has the pattern printed crisply and vibrantly from edge to edge in full colour, and the other has a simplified monochrome line-drawn version, with an ‘empty’ circle towards the top of the marker for you can add in any information or headers that you want.  For example you could add ‘Today’, ‘Next Month’ or ‘To-do’ if you’re a journaller or planner, or keep it simple with just a name to identify your book.

For a paper comparison Leuchtturm notebooks tend to be 80-100gsm, and standard printer paper is usually 70-80gsm.

FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council, which promotes responsible forestry and, arguably better than just recycled paper, FSC-Certified paper confirms that the paper used is both recyclable in its own right and has originally come from a sustainable source committed to responsible forestry practices.
