The extra height you get with a zip pouch means there is so much more you can use this for.  Of course it’s perfect for stationery storage - you can get a whole set of pens, pencils, rulers and even scissors, washi and journaling essentials too. Featuring our Moonlit Moths pattern, new for Spring 2025 in 3 different colourways, these items are the re-introduction of textiles to the Holchester Designs range and they’re back because I have, excitedly, found a collaborator to make them who values sustainable practices just like me.  The pattern was originally inspired by a walk around a butterfly house with my young daughters, who found the sheer number of winged insects around them mind-blowing.  Using my original hand-drawn sketch, these motifs were refined digitally before turning them into a repeat pattern.  

These are printed in Scotland on sustainable cotton, and then handmade (also in Scotland) in small batches to ensure minimum fabric waste.  The YKK zip is really sturdy, made from recycled plastic and with a leather zip pull for ease of opening.  Plus the thread used is also from recycled plastic and the case is fully lined for maximum practicality.  It will be posted out to you packaged simply with a recycled and recyclable tag, before being wrapped and posted out in our standard recycled/recyclable plastic-free packaging. 

This colourway is available in three different sizes of case - Slim, Standard Pencil Case and Zip Pouch - and all three sizes are also available in another two colourways too.  

Why not create your own gift set, mix and match colours and sizes in this pattern, or add some stationery too.  In fact it also goes brilliantly with the Butterfly House notebook. These cases are easy to post too - I can even post direct and add a message to a card for you (just select gift wrapping at the checkout).  

Launching just in time for Mother’s Day, this would be a great Mother’s Day gift or an alternative to an Easter Egg if chocolate isn’t her thing.

All packaging is plastic free, from tags and belly bands to postal packaging, and where possibly is also used multiple times. 

If your item does come covered, it’s in a biodegradable cellophane which will naturally decompose but also keeps your paper looking crisp on it’s travels.

All orders are processed within 3-5 working days and standard postage is via Royal Mail Tracked 48. 

All items are sent plastic free and in some cases the postal packaging you receive may have been used before.  Wherever possible I do recycle packaging, but I do check it’s in good enough condition to protect your items before it’s used.  I don’t, however, think it’s right to say I'm all about being sustainable and then use totally fresh postal packaging for every order. 

For all non-personalised items we accept returns up to 14 days after delivery, as long as the item is unused and in its original condition.

Do you make everything yourself? 

All the designs you see on my products are the results of my own original hand-drawn artwork which in turn I transform digitally into repeat patterns.  The physical products are then printed/made/sewn by specialist manufacturers from around the UK. 

Do you use AI in your designs?

AI (Artificial intelligence) is not used at any stage of my creative process. 

As a small business who uses lots of different tools, it’s impossible to avoid AI altogether in the running of my business, but my creative process is absolutely where I draw the line.  You can read more about my thoughts on AI, and how it is involved in other areas of my business, in this blog post.
