Adding a Spiral Notebook to the range has been on my list for a while, and after receiving a wonderful recommendation from a friend I found the perfect small business - that used just the sort of coil I wanted - to help me bring this to life. 

This is very much a notebook to be used everyday, but which makes you feel extra special when you use it.  The hardback cover gives it some rigidity, meaning you can prop it open and the spiral binding means you can fold the cover all the way back and easily turn the notebook round whichever you need it. And although the spiral binding does make it a little bulkier for your shelf that the others in the range, it's still only A5 in size so it's not over-weighty or overwhelming to be carried around or stored. 

The artwork has been inspired by that magical feeling of being in a flower field surrounded by thousands of multicoloured petals.  The sort where when there's a breeze it feels like an exciting natural energy flowing through the stems (rather than bringing impending rain).  But also by the wonderful busy yet methodical, nature inspired patterns from the Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau movements, where there's lots to see and an intensity of colour but it isn't overwhelming.

The cover is full-colour printed with the title in gold foil, and inside the covers you’ll find the dark blue continued but without a pattern so you can add any stickers or even your own designs!  As with my other notebooks, the first page is a monochrome continuation of the cover artwork, with space to add a name, gift message etc so no need for first page fear.  Following that are 199 sides of paper with a light grey dot-grid, made from 100gsm FSC uncoated paper, just like my other notebooks, so they’ll hold up well to inky pens you might write or draw with and make sure this really is a practical, long-lasting notebook. 

The finishing touches are the gold ribbon page marker, so you can always find your place straight away, the brass-coloured metal spiral binding and the gold foiling on the cover that mean this notebook will always feels a little bit special when you get it out to use it. 

What also makes this notebook special though is not just the hand-drawn artwork or the great materials.  It's that it's also been fully constructed by hand too, by the very aptly named Stationery Godmother who is another UK based female-owned small stationery business. I couldn't ask for a more perfect collaborator!
