Brighton Birds Memo Block

The newest addition to our stationery range, these square memo blocks are a great little sidekick. 

There's 100pages on recycled paper per pad, each with motifs from my Brighton Birds pattern decorating the edges but not taking over the writing panel.  And the writing panel itself is semi-opaque which means you can slightly see the pattern underneath but most importantly you can also see your notes (which is obviously key!). 

The main Brighton Birds design is a chinoiserie-style pattern inspired by visits to Brighton's Royal Pavilion and it's incredible staircase.  Once I'd started drawing these birds and branches there was only one direction the pattern could go in, and these hand-drawn and painted motifs were then digitised and tweaked for scale to be used across the collection. 

But as with all my products, functionality is as equally important as the look and these notepads use the same 100gsm recycled paper as used in all the other pads in my range.  It's beautifully smooth paper and it can easily hold it's own with inky fountain pens or highlighters, making it a perfect for those quick notes or last minute shopping lists writing with whatever's to hand. And due to it's size it's compact and convenient to live on desks, by phones and on kitchen benches. 

The Memo Block will arrive with a belly band around it to keep the pages together, and a Holchester Designs stamp on the reverse of the card.

Made in the UK by manufacturers who all source their materials, manage their materials and deal with their waste responsibly. 

1 tree is planted for every order in partnership with Ecologi.

All packaging is plastic free, from tags and belly bands to postal packaging, and where possibly is also used multiple times. 

If your item does come covered, it’s in a biodegradable cellophane which will naturally decompose but also keeps your paper looking crisp on it’s travels.

All orders are processed within 3-5 working days and standard postage is via Royal Mail Tracked 48. 

All items are sent plastic free and in some cases the postal packaging you receive may have been used before.  Wherever possible I do recycle packaging, but I do check it’s in good enough condition to protect your items before it’s used.  I don’t, however, think it’s right to say I'm all about being sustainable and then use totally fresh postal packaging for every order. 

For all non-personalised items we accept returns up to 14 days after delivery, as long as the item is unused and in its original condition.

Do you make everything yourself? 

All the designs you see on my products are the results of my own original hand-drawn artwork which in turn I transform digitally into repeat patterns.  The physical products are then printed/made/sewn by specialist manufacturers from around the UK. 

Do you use AI in your designs?

AI (Artificial intelligence) is not used at any stage of my creative process. 

As a small business who uses lots of different tools, it’s impossible to avoid AI altogether in the running of my business, but my creative process is absolutely where I draw the line.  You can read more about my thoughts on AI, and how it is involved in other areas of my business, in this blog post.
